Kitchener-Waterloo is full of fun events to help you celebrate Halloween, whether you like a good scare, or are just in it for the candy! We’ve put together a list of great events in the community, and you’re sure to find the right fit for you and your friends and family.
On October 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., head to Northside Baptist Church at 1373 Lobsinger Line in Waterloo for the fourth annual Trunk or Treat. The parking lot will be filled with decorated cars and people in costumes. There will be fun games and displays in each trunk, with chances to win free candy, plus hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate, and coffee and tea for the adults.
On Saturday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m., The Ruse will begin at the Walper Hotel in Kitchener. The Ruse is an exciting experience featuring the magic of David Storm, blending intimate parlour magic and a contemporary vibe. The show is intended for ages 18 and over. Tickets are available on Ticket Scene.
On October 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., come dressed as your favourite monster to the Kitchener Market for some Halloween fun for kids. There will be decorations, treats, goodies, crafts and some fun music for dancing. Bring a donation for the Waterloo Region Food Bank as admission.
On October 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Waterloo Region Museum will be hosting a Halloween event perfect for the little ones up to age 8. Kids must be accompanied by an adult, and will have a great time with a horse drawn wagon ride, games, crafts and other activities. Admission is $5 per child plus HST, with the accompanying adult free. Book by phone at 519-748-1914.
On October 30 at 7:30 p.m., the tradition continues with toast throwing, water guns, newspapers and more at the annual viewing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Princess Cinemas. Don’t forget your costume, and be sure to buy your tickets in advance on EventBrite.
On October 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., head to the Waterloo Region Museum for a family fun day of games, decorating mini pumpkins, and making some spooky crafts! Costumes are welcome and the events are included with regular admission.
Every weekend in October, Bingemans Screampark will feature three haunted houses (Death Row, Waverly Hills Sanatorium, and Vile), two escape rooms (Red Room), zombie survival paintball (Ontario Zombie Oubreak), and a lounge for corporate events (The VooDoo Lounge). On November 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., bring your best-carved pumpkins to line the pathways in Red River Park in Westvale. At dusk all the pumpkins will be lit for everyone to enjoy.
